WILD 'KNUCKLE' HETEROPSAMMIA COCHLEA CORAL
The "Knucklebone" or "Walking Dendro" coral, scientifically known as Heteropsammia cochlea, is a fascinating, free-living coral species characterized by its unique ability to move around on sandy substrates. This movement is facilitated by a symbiotic relationship with a sipunculid worm, which lives in a cavity at the base of the coral and helps it navigate the seafloor.
