Aquarium Services Brisbane

Gallery Aquatica is a reef and freshwater aquarium store in Tingalpa, on the eastern side of Brisbane. Alongside the shop we take on aquarium work off site: setting up new tanks, keeping established ones running, building tanks to suit a particular space, and moving tanks that need to go somewhere else.

We work on both marine and freshwater systems. If you are not sure which of the below you need, or whether your tank is worth servicing at all, it is worth a conversation before you commit to anything.

What we can help with

Aquarium installation and setup

Getting a new tank running properly is mostly about the decisions made before any water goes in: where it sits, what it sits on, how you get power and water to it, and what filtration and lighting actually suit the livestock you have in mind. We can set a new aquarium up from that point through to a cycled, stocked system, or come in partway if you have already made a start.

Maintenance and tank cleaning

Routine upkeep is the difference between a tank that looks good for years and one that becomes a chore. That covers glass and substrate cleaning, water changes, filter and pump servicing, testing, and picking up problems like nuisance algae or a drifting parameter before they turn into a loss. This can be a regular arrangement or a one off if a tank has gotten away from you.

Custom aquarium builds

If nothing off the shelf fits the space, a tank can be built to suit it. The constraints worth thinking about early are floor loading, access for maintenance, where the sump and the plumbing will live, and how the tank will be viewed, because those are the things that are difficult and expensive to change afterwards.

Tank moves and relocation

Moving an established aquarium is the job most likely to go wrong without help, because livestock, water and the biological filter all have to survive the gap. Whether you are moving house or shifting a tank to another room, it is worth planning rather than improvising on the day.

Marine and freshwater

The shop runs both sides, so both are covered: reef systems with corals and the demands that come with them, and freshwater setups including planted tanks. The approach differs a good deal between them, which is worth saying out loud when you get in touch so the right questions get asked early.

Where we work

We are based at Tingalpa, roughly fifteen minutes east of the Brisbane CBD, and work across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Beyond those we take it case by case depending on the job, so if you are further out it is still worth asking rather than assuming the answer is no.

Talk to us about your tank

There is no standard job here, so the useful first step is telling us what you have and what you want to happen. Tank size, whether it is marine or freshwater, roughly where you are, and what is prompting the call are enough to start with. Phone or email is usually quickest, and you are also welcome to come in and talk it through in person.

Common questions

Do you service both marine and freshwater tanks?

Yes. The shop runs both sides, including reef systems and planted freshwater tanks.

Which areas do you cover?

Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Further out is case by case depending on the job, so it is worth asking.

Can you set up a brand new aquarium?

Yes. We can take a new tank from placement and plumbing through to a cycled, stocked system, or step in partway if you have already started.

Can you move an established tank?

Yes. Tank moves and relocations are one of the things we take on, for a move between rooms or between addresses.

Do you build custom aquariums?

Yes, where an off the shelf tank will not fit the space. Floor loading, plumbing, sump placement and maintenance access are worth settling early.

Can you do a one off clean rather than a regular arrangement?

Yes. Maintenance can be a standing arrangement or a single visit if a tank needs bringing back under control.

How do I get a price?

Get in touch with your tank size, whether it is marine or freshwater, your rough location and what you need done. Jobs vary too much to quote meaningfully without that.
