BIOTECH AQUATICA NITROPLEX NCOMP BACTERIA
Nitroplex (formerly known as NCOMP) is a liquid microbial inoculant manufactured in Australia that serves as a complete nitrogen reduction consortium for aquariums, aquaculture biofilters, ponds and Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). It is a highly concentrated probiotic bacteria supplement designed to manage the entire nitrogen cycle including ammonia oxidation, nitrite reduction and aerobic nitrate removal all within a single, oxygenated environment.
Nitroplex is new to the market but already has also produced encouraging results in Marine systems experiencing nuisance blooms such as Dinoflagellates when dosed at higher concentrations. Multiple reefers have reported its efficacy in balancing out microbial ecosystems being outcompeted, particularly in conjunction with the addition of extra biological media. As more information becomes available the community has become increasingly open to utilising these strains to maintain microbial balance.
- Shake & Dose: Shake well and add directly to the biofilter, sump, or main tank water column. For new system setups, the standard dose rate is 1 ml per 100 L weekly.
- Turn Off Sterilisers: Switch off UV sterilisers, protein skimmers, and ozone generators for 6 hours post-dose to allow the live bacteria to colonize your filter media safely.
- Maintain Water Conditions: Ensure your dissolved oxygen remains above 4 mg/L and pH stays between 7.0 and 8.5. Avoid mixing with strong medications or oxidizers.
- Carbon Support: For optimal speed and biofilter resilience, pair the bacteria with Biotech Aquatica's companion organic carbon source, OC-K.
