AQUACULTURED BRANCHING CORALLINE ALGAE CHUNK / FRAG
A frag of a fully captive grown unique strain of branching purple Coralline Algae. When we asked around, even internationally, no-one could recall ever seeing anythign like this before. Coralline algae is generally encrusting, plating or even scrolling. When grown in high flow and light, this species will grow out in forked shapes from every growth tip to create a ball shaped colony which often fools onlookers into believing it is an SPS coral! It is really attractive looking, and the perfect mix of both flexible and rigid.
When we removed frags from the colony and grow them out in a low flow system it grew in a much finer and less ball shaped growth form.
It is important to monitor Calcium, KH and magnesium, alongside dosing Strontium to ensure this variety remains healthy and grows successfully.
Size depends on growth and availability at time of packing but you can defintely expect at least a 3cm x 3cm portion (if not larger).
