Mushroom Coral

Mushroom coral for sale in Australia, from our reef store in Tingalpa, Brisbane. Most pieces are one-offs photographed individually, so what you see is the coral you receive, and stock changes constantly.

Mushroom corals are the easiest way into keeping coral: low light, gentle flow, no calcium or alkalinity dosing, and tolerant of a tank that is still settling in. They are corallimorphs rather than true corals, so there is no hard skeleton underneath.

They are listed here under their genus names. Ricordea are the bobbly ones, covered in short rounded tentacles, and the most sought after. Rhodactis are larger and hairier and include the bounce mushrooms. Discosoma are smooth, flat and the fastest to spread.

There is more detail, including which genus is which, how to keep them and how to reattach a mushroom that has let go, on our mushroom coral guide. For delivery outside Brisbane see freighting and packing.
