AQUACULTURED CHOC MINT BRIARIUM STAR POLYP FRAG
A dainty variety of Star Polyp (Genus Briarium) whereby each tentacle face is coloured a minty teal green and edged with brown "hairy" pinules. This star polyp will grow in mats and can often be likened to "grass". Some people even like to let it grow along the overflow or back wall of the aquarium.
Star Mat will grow faster in presence of quality light in a spreading habit. It is important to islandise these kinds of corals in mixed reefs to prevent potential for smothering slower growing coral varieties.
We have been growing and fragging this variety out of Cam's display tank were it popped up having grown out of the (originally live) rockscape he had built in his DT when the store opened in 2014. Frags are all genetically identicle captive grown clones of the pictured piece.
